WOODLANDS CSC BADMINTON TOURNAMENT 2008
GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Title
1.1 This tournament shall be called the Woodlands CSC Badminton Tournament 2008.

2. Organiser & Sponsor
2.1 This tournament is organized by Woodlands CSC, co-organized by Woodlands CCMC, and supported by Woodlands Grassroots Organisations, schools in Woodlands vicinity and Singapore Sports Council.
2.2 This tournament is sponsored by Aerial Enterprise & Woodlands CSC. Prizes will be given to 1st and 2nd positions only.

3. Period of Tournament
3.1 The tournament shall commence on 23 November 2008 till 06 December 2008.
3.2 The matches for the prelims shall be held on Saturdays and Sundays from 2.00pm to 7.00pm. See schedule below (5.2).
3.3 The organisers reserve the right to change the date and time of the fixtures for the tournament.

4. Venue
4.1 The tournament shall be held at Woodlands Community Club and any venue as may be decided by the organisers.

5. Division & Categories
5.1 The tournament shall consist of Open Division only.
5.2 There shall be three categories in this division. The order of play shall be as follows:

23 Nov 08 Sun (Prelims): 2pm – 7pm Men’s Doubles
29 Nov 08 Sat (Prelims): 2pm – 7pm Men’s Singles
30 Nov 08 Sun (Prelims): 2pm – 7pm Mixed Doubles
06 Dec 08 Sat (Finals) : 3pm – 7pm Mixed Doubles, Men’s Doubles, Men’s Singles

6. Important dates
6.1 Registration closing date for entries: 9 November 2008
6.2 Tournament draw: 14 November 2008 Thursday 8pm @ Woodlands Community Club Badminton Hall.
6.3 Commencement of tournament: 23 November 2008 Sunday

7. Cancellation
7.1 In the event that less than 12 teams are registered for any particular category, that category’s matches shall be cancelled.

8. Tournament system & rules
8.1 The tournament shall be a double knock-out format for all categories.
8.2 All players are required to bring along their identification documents for verification on days of their matches, failing which they might NOT be allowed to play.
8.3 All players must report to the Official Registration Table at least 30mins before the scheduled time of their matches.
8.4 During preliminaries, players are required to stay on the court AFTER their match has ended, to act as line judges for the following match. Players who fail to do so shall be disqualified from the competition.
8.5 The decision of the umpires and officials shall be deemed as final.
